The FRN8497 Vocoder also offers a patented Emergency Digital Voice message, which resembles to a “voice SMS ”,and a high standard digital voice encryption option, using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard)algorithm.

This feature provides a most robust voice link, capable of penetrating through highly distorted negative SNR fading channels. The FRN8497 Vocoder unit is implemented for HF links at 1200 bps rates on the Mixed Multi-Band Excitation Linear Predictive Coding (MMBE-LPC).
